What to do if your boiler pressure is too high | Viessmann

Dec 13, 2006 · If you get water, the tank is shot. If the air valve is pointed upward, you need to drop the boiler pressure to zero & measure the air pressure in the tank with a low pressure tire gauge. The pressure should be about 12#. If it is zero or nearly so, the bladder in the tank is probably bad requiring a tank replacement. Upvote.

The problem is with the UFH manifold, this has 7 circuits(4 zones) and I'm struggling to get a decent flow or pressure so the UFH pump will feed all the circuits effectively. I raised the pressure at the fill point in the basement to 1.5bar.

Boiler pressure too high? Here's why & how to reduce it

Jul 29, 2005 · The other (pressure release valve discharge) pipe is presumably 15mm (possibly 22mm) copper and needs only to discharge outside in a safe location, since it will not normally discharge anything. However if certain faults developed with the boiler, this pipe might possibly discharge steam and boiling water, hence the safety aspect.

How to Fix Rising Boiler Pressure | DoItYourself.com

Feb 02, 2010 · Too much water in the expansion tank and too little air may also cause pressure to rise frequently. If the bottom of the tank does not feel hotter than the top, it indicates an excessive amount of water. You need to drain this water from the tank. To do so, first turn the boiler off. Then close the water shutoff valve and allow the system to cool.
